Meet The Ballymaloe Cookery School Team

If you love food and cooking, well a visit to the world renowned Ballymaloe Cookery School, set in a most beautiful part of the country on a 100-acre organic farm, is an absolute must. This distinguished school, has tirelessly championed Irish produce and has been delivering culinary education to people from all over, for the last 30 years. Founded by Darina, her brother Rory and now joined by daughter-in-law Rachel and other professional chefs, they have together published numerous best-selling cookbooks and multiple tv series, broadcasted to millions around the world. When you arrive, you will know you have come to somewhere special!

About The Experience

Checking-in fifteen minutes before the experience starts, you will be welcomed and will receive a folder with your copy of all the recipes for the afternoon. Taking a seat in the demonstration room, with its large mirror and tv screens, ensuring perfect visibility, you will be joined by young and mature students for a wonderful experience of cooking. Between 8 and 12 recipes, a selection of starters, main courses and desserts, making up a delicious 3-course meal will be demonstrated in this busy afternoon experience. When the demonstration is over you will join the rest of the students in tasting all the delicious things that have been cooked during the experience. If time and weather permits, you may even get a chance to walk around the extensive gardens. Now what’s not to love about this!

What Else Do You Need To Know

If tasting the dishes cooked during the experience, be sure to ask if suitable for specific dietary requirements. Menu changes all the time, but a selection of Irish and international dishes will feature.

+ Booking Cancellations & Refunds

If for whatever reason you unfortunately need to cancel your booking, you can do so up to 48 hours or more before the day of the experience. Inside 48 hours, we cannot offer a refund as our Host Members have been busy purchasing food or preparing for your visit. To request cancellation, simply email us directly provide your booking number and name. We will confirm the cancellation of your booking and the full amount of the booking cost refunded to your card. Please note it may take up to 12 working days for the money to reach your credit card statement.

+ Dietary Restrictions

Almost all Host Members can accommodate dietary restrictions and food allergies, including vegetarian and gluten free options. Please be sure to outline yours at the time of booking, so our Host Members are aware and can prepare for your visit.

+ Alcohol

Some experiences may include alcohol in the total booking price for guests of legal alcohol age. However, it may also be an optional add on for some experiences. If so, the price will be clearly visible on the experience profile page.

All our Host Members are part of a like-minded family network. We are all aware of the importance of your safety. Each Host Member has had an on-site inspection, based on strict quality criteria, prior to being approved and recommended by Good Food Ireland.
